The Effect of Satir Family Sculpture Technique for Low-income Single-Parents' Female

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to see the effect of group counseling on the improvementof psychological well-being and symptoms checklist of low-income single-parents' female through Satir's family sculpture technique. The program took place from January 2012 to March 2012, once a week, total of 8 times at each class endured 120 minutes. To verify the effectiveness of the program, experimental group and controlled group were selected and took psychological well-being and symptoms checklist test before and after the program and then took the pair t-test. As a result of the research, there is a significant difference between the experimental group and controlling group. Using the Satir's family sculpture technique, for the low-incomes single-parents' female, the sense of psychological well-being and symptoms checklist were positively improved. Therefore, it has worked as an intervention group counseling for the chance to enhance the sense of psychological well-being and symptoms checklist of the low-income single-parents' female. It's productive to suggest the possibility of application of this to the low-income single-parents' female under the difficult situation with speedy social changes in the aspects of conflict, emotion and psychology in social work practice counseling field through development of various program.
